Hounds Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start

With left fielder Michael Cherry leading the charge, the Hicksville Hounds defeated the Phoenix Hotspur Academy, 6-3, at Hound Pound. Cherry was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. The winner was Hicksville reliever Leonardo Trujillo, now 1-0. The loser was Shawn Adams. With the win, Hicksville improves its record to 1-2.
Shi-yu Ting was one of the major contributors to the win for Hicksville. The light-hitting third baseman stroked a single to center in the bottom of the fourth inning. For the day, he was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Hicksville manager Wilber Moon.
