Otters Come Back Late to Clip Cougars
|
The Otters had to overcome a good performance from Valley View pitcher Chris Plautz to claim a 3-2 win at Hillandale Grounds. Plautz went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Tulsa is 4th in the Premier R with a record of 43-32.
Tulsa used the timely hitting of John Montgomery to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Otters on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Tulsa manager Bill Callahan.
