The Centennial faced a stiff challenge from Ogallala pitcher Voitto Niskakangas, but persevered to claim a win at Nebraska Aquarium. The final score was 4-2. Niskakangas went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Phil Day in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Will Williams took the loss. Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Xue-qin Chen to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Centennial on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I thought we played a nice game," Chen told the Fort Knox Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
