Ducks Win at Hudsonville, 5-2
|
Long Island starter Raśl Villegas pitched effectively against the Hudsonville Flanderses at Field of the Toros. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Villegas, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. The 7th-place Ducks have won 4 consecutive games.
Long Island used the bat of Blair Jordan to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Ducks ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Villegas.
