Cougars Get Win, Extend Streak to 5

Ballpark of Baxter was the site for USPL Rookie action featuring the Fort Knox Centennial and Valley View Cougars.
The Valley View Cougars bested the Fort Knox Centennial, 7-2, at Ballpark of Baxter. Steve Roberson was named player of the game. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Thomas Sangrey got the win, improving to 4-3. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 1.
Valley View used the clutch hitting of Luis Ortíz to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to give the Cougars the lead, 1-0. For the game, Ortíz had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
Ortíz told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
The 4th-place Cougars have won 5 straight.
