Buffalo got a terrific game from designated hitter Je-myung Yu. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Hollywood, 2-1. Yu was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. Hollywood reliever Seung Pak was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Damien Hayward took the loss for Buffalo. Yeon-kyu Kim finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Hollywood took a 2-1 lead on Alexei Ponikarov's 25th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Ponikarov hit in the top of the ninth, left Buffalo pitcher Damien Hayward visibly frustrated.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Buffalo skipper Chris Lau.
Hollywood has now won 5 straight.
