The Ogallala Octopi got a superb performance from center fielder Nate Hodges, but the Crowley Cajuns still won the game, 4-3. Hodges was named the player of the game despite the loss. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Rubén Santana picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-8. He struck out 10 in 5 innings. The save was credited to Héctor Sanz, his 5th.
Heng-zong Pao had a big run-scoring single for the Cajuns in the bottom of the first inning. With Crowley leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Ed Callahan and stroked the single to center. It was his 4th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cajuns ahead, 3-0.
Pao called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
At 20-35, Crowley is in 9th place in the Premier R.
