Chong Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Memphis in Walk-Off Win
|
The Fort Knox Centennial got a superb performance from pitcher Phil Day, but the Memphis Music still won the game, 3-2. Day was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. With the win, Memphis goes to 8-14, while the Centennial fall to 11-11.
Jung Chong was the walk-off hero for Memphis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Music pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Memphis manager Martin Richards.
