It was a good time at Magnolia Park, where fans came to watch the Nashville Outlaws and Mississippi Mockingbirds get after it.

The Mississippi Mockingbirds beat the Nashville Outlaws, 9-5, at Magnolia Park. Mississippi third baseman Orlando Velásquez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. With the loss, Nashville sinks to 11-10.

Velásquez had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Mockingbirds went on to win.

In comments to the Mississippi Citizen, Velásquez insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
