Galesburg pitcher Zhi-qiang Ku gave the Airmen all they could handle, but in the end, Alameda left Galesburg Field with a 5-0 win. Ku allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings. Alameda reliever José Elizondo picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Zhi-qiang Ku was saddled with the loss. The Airmen saw their record improve to 51-43.

The Airmen grabbed the lead in the top of the fifth. With two out, Nicodemo Nardone hit a solo home run off Zhi-qiang Ku, putting Alameda in front, 2-0. For Nardone, it was his 10th home run of the season.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Nardone.
