Guzzlers Beat Blaze, 7-4
|
The Galesburg Guzzlers topped the South Beach Blaze, 7-4, with youngster Charles Ward playing a key role. Ward was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Guzzlers in the win. Galesburg now sits in last place in the Premier A at 24-69.
Galesburg took a 5-4 lead on Pedro Martínez's 29th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Martínez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left South Beach pitcher Eliseo Fontirroig shaking his head.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Martínez.
