The Galesburg Guzzlers got a sterling performance from right fielder Leonid Machehin, but the Blaze still prevailed, 6-4. Machehin was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Brian Duncan got the save, his 4th in 7 chances. South Beach is now 43-49, while Galesburg is 23-69.
Had Dong-woo Kim not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Kim hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Blaze.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Kim said after the game.
