Extra-Inning Win by Seahawks over Airmen
|
The Alameda Airmen got a superb performance from pitcher Chris McDonald. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Myrtle Beach. The Seahawks won the game, 3-1. In spite of the loss, McDonald was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Myrtle Beach reliever Prosper Azagba picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Mario Herrera absorbed the loss. Myrtle Beach is now 59-26, 8 games up in the Premier A.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Christiaan Bunschoten to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Seahawks ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Bunschoten.
