Newton Now 5-2 After Subduing Walleye
|
The Chicago Tula picked up a win at Ramblers Ballpark, knocking off the Walla Walla Walleye, 5-1. Starting pitcher Jake Newton played a key role in the triumph. Getting the save was Garrett Austin, his 13th. Their 48-33 record puts the Tula second in the Premier A.
Newton allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 7.2 innings for the Tula. He walked 1 and struck out 8.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Newton told the Chicago News.
