Guzzlers Rally For Late Win Over Seahawks
|
Myrtle Beach got a terrific performance from pitcher Modeste Azagba, but it wasn't enough to beat the Galesburg Guzzlers. Galesburg won the Seahwaks Stadium contest, 3-1. Azagba was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Rob Durnford in relief. His record improves to 2-6. Duckens Nazon took the loss. Galesburg bumps their record to 22-50 with the win.
Galesburg used the timely hitting of Leonid Machehin to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Guzzlers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Machehin.
