Talia Hits 2 home runs in Hotspur Win
|
Benefiting from Martín Talia's productive game, the Phoenix Hotspur downed the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 12-5. Talia went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Hotspur. Masahiro Sakei picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 5 in 8 innings. Phoenix is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 5th win in 16 games.
Talia put Phoenix up, 12-3, when he hit a 3-run home run off Anatoly Ivanovich in the top of the eighth. His 8th home run of the season helped the Hotspur capture the win.
"We take it day by day here," said Talia, "and today was a good one for us."
