Galesburg got an elite performance from starting pitcher Zhi-qiang Ku in taking a 4-0 decision over the South Beach Blaze. Ku, now 1-5, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Mario Fuentes picked up the save for Galesburg, his 5th of the year.

Galesburg used the timely hitting of Luis Escribano to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Guzzlers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Ku.

South Beach's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
