Guzzlers Subdue South Beach, 3-1

The Galesburg Guzzlers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Georges Cormier, who kept South Beach hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Guzzlers win at The Ballpark on the Beach. Cormier picked up the win for Galesburg, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-5. The save was credited to Tom Peña, his 3rd.
One of the key players for the Guzzlers was right fielder Leonid Machehin, who drilled a double in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, Machehin went 1 for 4 with a double.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Cormier told the Galesburg Citizen.
Even with the win, the Guzzlers have a dismal 17-41 record.
