Seahawks Raise Rally Flag, Beat Rocky Mountain, 5-3
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks picked up a win at Bellevue Field, knocking off the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 5-3. Starting pitcher Modeste Azagba, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Azagba went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-1. Myrtle Beach is now 42-16, 8½ games up in the Premier A.
Myrtle Beach used the clutch hitting of Kyle Goodbrand to capture the win. The catcher drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Seahawks the lead, 4-3. For the game, Goodbrand had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Goodbrand told reporters after the game.
