Hotspur Come Back Late to Clip Shredders
|
The Hotspur grabbed a win, 4-2, at Chase Field, overcoming a fine effort from Hollywood pitcher Joy-shan Men. Men went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Phoenix reliever Juan Morán picked up the win to move to 1-0. Joy-shan Men suffered the loss. Nees Stroo got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Mare Riseley drove in one run for Phoenix. In the bottom of the eighth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Riseley delivered for the Hotspur. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Phoenix on top, 3-2.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Riseley told reporters after the game.
The Hotspur have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 14 games.
