Blaze Suffer 3-1 Loss to Vibes
|
Rocky Mountain and South Beach played a hard-fought contest at The Ballpark on the Beach.
In a low-scoring game between the Rocky Mountain Vibes and the South Beach Blaze, pitcher Neil Young was masterful on the mound. The Rocky Mountain right-hander was named the player of the game in Rocky Mountain's 3-1 win. In 7 innings, Young surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. José Martínez got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
It could have been a different outcome for Rocky Mountain, had it not been for Eric Landry, the 24-year old shortstop . Landry contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put Rocky Mountain up, 3-0.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Young.
The Vibes saw their win-loss record go to 26-20. At the same time, the Blaze fell to 22-24.
