South Beach pitcher Sergio Tacuri gave the Revolution all they could handle, but in the end, York left The Ballpark on the Beach with a 3-2 win. Tacuri allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7.1 innings. Marcus Morgan got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. York now sits in 5th place in the Premier A at 18-20.
York used the timely hitting of Reggie Gommers to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Revolution on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said York manager José Reyes. "It's usually not just one thing."
