The Myrtle Beach Seahawks got a superb performance from pitcher Scott Richardson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The Tula won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Richardson was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Mac Hippenhammer earned the save, his 3rd. The win lifts Chicago to a record of 3-4.

Chicago needed the clutch hitting of Eddie Hickford to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tula on top, 6-5. For the game, Hickford had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Hickford called the triumph "a good team win."
