Tula Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
It was a good time at Ramblers Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Alameda Airmen and Chicago Tula get after it.
In a tight game between the Chicago Tula and the Alameda Airmen, pitcher William Burkett was terrific on the mound. The Chicago right-hander was named the player of the game in Chicago's 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Burkett, now 1-0. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Mac Hippenhammer picked up the save, his 1st.
The Tula grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With two out, Júlio Abarco hit a 2-run home run off Jorge Moreno, putting Chicago in front, 2-1. For Abarco, it was his 1st home run of the season.
Abarco called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Tula hope to make a postseason run.
