Vandals Pin 4-3 Loss on Hotspur U-21
|
John St. John pitched well, but his team, the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Eugene Vandals at The Riot Zone. Earning his 10th save for Eugene was Colton Moonfall. Eugene, now 20-76, holds last place in the Silver A.
The Vandals got a lift from catcher Maxim Abeele who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off John St. John. It was his 4th walk of the season and put Eugene in front, 1-0.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Phoenix manager William Smith. "But we decided not to take it."
