|
Caldwell pitcher Driscoll Craft gave the Mango all they could handle, but in the end, Provo left Pipers Ballpark with a 6-4 win. Craft allowed 3 earned runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings. The winner was Provo reliever Chris Berry, now 3-2. The loser was Juan Colón. Sean Jones closed it out for his 23rd save.
Provo used the bat of León Murciano to get the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mango ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll savor this win," Murciano told the Provo Observer, "then get ready for the next game."
With the win, the Mango improved to 51-33.
