Northern Lions BC Raise Rally Flag, Beat Phoenix, 6-4
|
Northern Lions BC right fielder Jorge Herrera put his stamp on his team's 6-4 win over the Phoenix Hotspur. Herrera was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Thunder Bay in the contest. Thunder Bay reliever Walt Coffman picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rust Cohle was saddled with the loss. Jim Sison recorded the save for Thunder Bay, his 2nd of the season.
Naganori Takahashi produced at a critical juncture for Thunder Bay. It happened in the top of the eighth with Rust Cohle on the mound and Thunder Bay leading 5-4. That's when the 30-year old third baseman Takahashi drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Takahashi said.
