Hotspur U-21 Drop Storm, 5-2

The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 beat the Syracuse Storm, 5-2, at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. The Hotspur U-21 got a fine performance from shortstop Ger Jobse, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run. Phoenix reliever Bill Aylwin was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Rubén López. Lúcio Salas closed the door for Phoenix, picking up his 18th save of the year.
The Hotspur U-21 took the lead in the bottom of the first. With two out, Richard Barlow hit a 2-run home run off Syracuse pitcher Rubén López, putting Phoenix in front, 3-0. For the game, Barlow went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Jobse.
Phoenix is 4th in the Silver A with a record of 42-36.
