Buchanan Perfect Against San Mateo
|
Hollywood Shredders starter David Buchanan was as good as a pitcher can be today, as he hurled a perfect game against the San Mateo Dirty Reds.
In doing so, Buchanan accomplished one of the most difficult feats in baseball and one that will put his name in the record books.
"I can tell you I've dreamed about a day like this," Buchanan told the press after the game. "Now that I've done it, the feeling is even better."
In his splendid 6-0 victory at The Hollywood Bowl, Buchanan yielded no hits, walked none and had 13 strikeouts. In the historic outing he retired 27 successive batters.
