Biff Pocoroba pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Syracuse Storm, despite Pocoroba's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Washington Generals at Storm Park. Buddy Patton had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for the Generals. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Washington trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
