Victory Pushes Arryns Record to 41-25
|
The Lake Erie Arryns defeated the Washington Generals, 4-1, in USSL Single A action at Washington Park, with Lake Erie pitcher Luis Matos named player of the game. Matos picked up the win for Lake Erie, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 5-1. Jimmy Whitney earned the save, his 21st.
Lake Erie used a timely hit from Wang Gai to get the win. The catcher delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Arryns on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Gai attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The Arryns raised their record to 41-25.
