5 Straight Wins for Hotspur U-21
|
The inspired effort of Niagara Falls first baseman Buretaua Taati was not enough to prevent a 6-4 loss to the Phoenix Hotspur U-21. Taati was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Jared Martínez got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Expos to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. The 5th-place Hotspur U-21 have won 5 straight.
The Hotspur U-21 grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third. With two out, Nate Edwards, who is tied for 7th in the SA with a .472 slugging percentage, hit a 2-run home run off Maximiano Agostinho, putting Phoenix in front, 3-0. For Edwards, it was his 5th home run of the season.
"Credit where credit is due," said Edwards, "this was a team win."
