Generals Come Up Short at Lake Erie
|
The Lake Erie Arryns defeated the Washington Generals, 2-1, in USSL Single A action at Arryns Ballpark, with Lake Erie pitcher Greg Hoover named player of the game. The third-place Arryns are now 31-20, the Generals 25-26.
Andy Hicks, the Lake Erie first baseman, contributed a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 2-0, Arryns. For the game, Hicks went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Lake Erie manager Donald Hutchinson.
