Mango Nip Vandals, 1-0
Mototsune Rin never let Eugene get something going. The Provo left-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Mango to a 1-0 win. Rin picked up the win for Provo, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-0. Provo currently is in first place in the Silver A at 32-17.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the fourth inning. That's when catcher José Avilés, who is rated as the 59th best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The Mango went on to win.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Avilés.
