Expos Get Road Win, 3-1
|
Niagara Falls beat Tennessee on the strength of starter Rainer Letroit's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Letroit got the win, improving to 1-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Letroit allowed 1 earned run. Von Hansen finished the game for Niagara Falls and earned his 1st save.
A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Expos sent 22-year-old third baseman Rafael Mastache to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Niagara Falls on top, 3-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Niagara Falls manager Terry Stokes.
Niagara Falls now sits at 14-22, while Tennessee falls to 16-20.
