The Niagara Falls Expos got a superb performance from pitcher Raúl Villegas, but the Washington Generals still won the game, 4-3. Villegas was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball. Byron Cooling picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 6 in 6.1 innings. The Generals bumped their record to 17-13 with this latest triumph.

Washington designated hitter Manuel Acosta made his contribution to the Generals cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth inning. For the day, Acosta went 1 for 4 with a double.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Acosta said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
