Expos Score Late to Upend Generals, 5-4
|
The Expos grabbed a win, 5-4, at Washington Park, overcoming a fine effort from Washington pitcher Pascal Durand. Durand went 7 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Niagara Falls is now 10-18, Washington 16-12.
Niagara Falls used the timely hitting of Buretaua Taati to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Expos on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Taati. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
