Generals Get Close Win Over Vandals
Álex Ortíz pitched a gem to lead Washington to a 8-1 victory over the Eugene Vandals. The last-place Vandals have lost 7 straight games.

Washington used the timely hitting of Buddy Patton to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Generals on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Patton told the Washington News.
