The Laredo Hawks knocked off the Niagara Falls Expos, 10-2, at Waterfall Park. Jesús Gómez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Laredo won. The third baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dave Hamilton earned the save for Laredo, his 2nd of the year. The Expos fall to 6-13 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2038 season.

With Laredo leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Gómez hit a fastball from Michael Fillmore for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 4-0.

Niagara Falls manager Terry Stokes called the blowout loss "a real dud."
