Storm Top Generals to Even Record
|
The Washington Generals and Syracuse Storm brought some excitement to Washington Park.
The Syracuse Storm saddled the Washington Generals with a loss at Washington Park. The final score was 5-2. Pat Kramer, named player of the game, was 3 for 5, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Syracuse third baseman scored 1 run and drove in 3. Sterling Wheeler earned the win for Syracuse. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 3-0.
Syracuse took a 5-1 lead on Kramer's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Gareth Doppenberg in the top of the seventh, propelled Syracuse to the win.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Kramer told the Syracuse Times.
The Generals drop to 8-8 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.
