Hawks Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Laredo Hawks defeated the Syracuse Storm, 4-2, at Storm Park today. Leading the charge for Laredo was right fielder Eddie Neef. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Hawks are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 6th win in 15 games.
Mark Bakker was a prime factor in the win for the Hawks. In the top of the fourth with two out, the 19-year old center fielder hit a 2-run single. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"I thought we played a nice game," Bakker told the Laredo Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
