Chukars Win at Cape Coral, 5-3
|
Fans who gathered at Margaritaville Park saw a good contest between the Idaho Falls Chukars and Cape Coral Reefers.
Idaho Falls starter Frank Wilson pitched effectively against the Cape Coral Reefers at Margaritaville Park. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Wilson picked up the win for Idaho Falls, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-6. Gary Podell got credit for the save for Idaho Falls. It was his 13th of the year.
Idaho Falls used the timely hitting of Emosi Whiu to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Chukars on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Wilson said.
Idaho Falls, at 40-47, sits in 8th place in the Menard's A.
