Multi-HR Day for Bishara as Rainbow Mermaids Overpower Patriots, 7-0
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeated the Boston Patriots, 7-0, in United States Premier League action at Dunkin Donuts Park. Tural Bishara received player of the game honors. The 9-year veteran slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Chris Holland got the win, improving to 11-6. He held the Patriots to no earned runs on 4 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 0. The first-place Rainbow Mermaids, at 72-34, now lead their division by 7½ games.
With Northern Virginia leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Bishara hit a changeup from Nicky Bogdan for a 3-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 4-0.
"We've got a great group of guys," Bishara said, "and we're having fun right now."
