In a low-scoring game between the Cape Coral Reefers and the Mancelona Torch, pitcher Ken Richmond was masterful on the mound. The Cape Coral right-hander was named the player of the game in Cape Coral's 2-1 win. Bill Glenn got credit for the save for Cape Coral. It was his 19th of the year. The losses continue to pile up for Mancelona, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.

It could have been a different outcome for Cape Coral, had it not been for Fernando Negrete, the 22-year old third baseman . Negrete contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Cape Coral up, 2-0.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Cape Coral manager Rickey Jones.
