River Rats Top Chukars in 12
|
The Columbia River Rats finished things off in style today at Columbia Stadium.
A 3-RBI performance from Dean Barthorpe, who is tied for 9th in the 3A in home runs with 7, helped the Columbia River Rats beat the Idaho Falls Chukars, 6-3. The win was Micheal Smith's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Isacco Taricco took the loss for Idaho Falls.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With no one out, Barthorpe hit a fastball from Isacco Taricco for a 3-run home run. The River Rats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The vibe's good," said Columbia manager Kyle Besley. "We've got to keep it going."
The River Rats, at 34-28, have now won 5 straight.
