Philadelphia 1776 got a terrific performance from pitcher Elroy Thompkins, but it wasn't enough to beat the Portland Evergreens. Portland won the Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum contest, 5-3. Thompkins was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 4 runs. The win was credited to Seong-hyeon Yi in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Elroy Thompkins took the loss. Portland has now won 4 straight.

Mei Kim contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he got hit by a pitch. It was one at-bat that helped Portland get the win.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck.
