Castanheta Hits 2 home runs in Jets Win
|
The Kennesaw Jets thumped the Belleville Bulls, 8-2, at Belleville Field. Bras Castanheta was a big reason his team got the win. Castanheta went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The winner was Dave O'Neil, who threw 118 pitches over 8.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. The last-place Bulls have lost 4 consecutive games.
Castanheta had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Luis Pantoja, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Jets a 6-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Castanheta.
"We did a lot of things right," said Castanheta.
