Larry Walsh never let the Jets get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Torch to a 4-1 win. Mancelona reliever Zedekiah Brenneman got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Tim Tate was tagged with the loss. At 18-27, the Torch are currently 11th in the Menard's A.

Ángel Castro made it 2-1, Mancelona, in the top of the eighth when he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Torch win.

"I thought we played a nice game," Castro told the Mancelona Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
