Thunder Hawks Suffer 4-1 Loss to Sixshooters
|
Pitcher Govaart van Ankeren was sensational for the Westwood Sixshooters in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks. van Ankeren received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Westwood, at 25-39, occupies 9th place in the Premier AA.
The Sixshooters got a lift from first baseman Oki Hai who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Craig Gunter. It was his 38th walk of the season and put Westwood in front, 1-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Westwood manager Cedric Fields.
