River Rats Prove Rude Guests, Win 3-0 at Belleville
|
Columbia starter Sammy Reed had a strong outing against the Belleville Bulls at Belleville Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-0 win. The winning pitcher was Reed, now 2-2. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Columbia is now 21-23.
Columbia used the timely hitting of Seb Considine to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Rats ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.
In postgame comments to the Columbia Bulletin, Considine said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
